for all you need to know!

Hope to see you joining in the fun!

In my stash I had a panel from this older collection from

Home is in the Kitchen by Clothworks

I am thinking I may use some of this panel in my blog hop project.

I have lots of ideas for this one and one design in process.

Today while I was fondling these pretty fabrics another idea popped in my head.

I shall have to see what I shall sew.

On the homefront, my ceiling has dried a little
but that could just be because everything on the roof is frozen again
as we are having bitterly cold weather.

The forecast for the weekend is not too good ...

snow changing to freezing rain changing to heavy rain and then plunging below zero again.

On Tuesday I will be having laser eye surgery again.

After this I will be taking a rest and recovery break from blogging for a few days.

A Fabric Filled Valentine!

Isn't this sweet?

Candy for the eye on a cold, gray winter day.

This pretty fabric filled valentine arrived as a surprise from my friend

Thank you, Jeanie!

This has really brightened my day ... :)

Looks gloomy, eh?

That is where my sewing machine has been sitting to catch the eastern sun.

It is a bay wall and we have ice dams on the roof.

The ice has edged under the eaves and is ...
drip ... drip ... dripping
... into my dining room.

I have moved my sewing machine to  dining table / cutting table for now.
A better solution will hopefully be found soon.

Hopefully spring is coming soon.

Katniss and I say thanks for small blessings.

Snow Fields

This is my backyard after the latest 14 inches of snow.

This photo was taken yesterday shortly after the snow stopped.

The haze you see on the back fence line is the snow airborne in the wind.

You cannot even tell where our 3 foot high fire pit table is buried under a drift.

You may remember this snowlady standing tall with her fashionable pink and gray bag recently.

Somehow she was blown sideways by the winds.

I have never seen a snow person hold on to her head like this while toppling over.

This is one strong snowlady; she is bowed but not giving up.

This is this morning after the high winds blew all night.

You can see that it was blown right over the top of the five foot fence in the back right corner.

We usually use the hanging planter as a bird feeder in the winter
but this year we cannot reach it.
The birds are dining elsewhere.
Toss out a few handfuls and they are gone in a flash of flying feathers.
There is a 12 foot wall of snow on the left of this photo where the snow from the driveway has been carried shovelful by shovelful.
We will not be getting to the backyard for a few weeks.

Temperatures here reached 10 below Zero Fahrenheit last night.

The wind chill brought it to -35 degrees below zero.

Right now it is almost noon and the temperature is only single digits
and the wind gust are bringing it to -20 degrees.

There is another coastal storm in the forecast for tomorrow.

We made it to the top of the list after that last storm.

It is winter in New England.

I am thinking spring.

It will come.

There is no relief in the forecast ...

only sub zero temperatures ...

and more snow.

The winds are blowing.
